Dr. Dharav Shah, DPM, MD.
He has done DPM from BJMC, Pune and then MD Psychiatry from NIMHANS.
He has been working since 7 yrs for empowering the youth with adequate knowledge about alcohol & tobacco, so that they can make an informed choice. Till date he has made more than 380 presentations on this issue. Now he is trying to share the data he has collected with medical students, so that they also feel confident to do similar work. He has made presentations at 44 medical colleges and at various conferences/ CMEs, discussing the issue with around 6000 medicos till now.
He has also been working on training medicos in ‘Brief intervention’ i.e how to help people quit alcohol or tobacco by counselling them, in the short period of time doctors that have in their busy practice.
He has his private practice in Mumbai and devotes half of his time to awareness work.
His inspiration to work on psychological issues partly comes from having himself dealt with OCD and stammering in his life.
